Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central partner services, shaped to how you work

We implement, extend, integrate and support Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for companies that want the ERP to follow their process rather than the other way round. That means AL extensions written to your approval chains and pricing rules, integrations to the systems around the ERP, reports your managers actually open, and a support team that stays after go-live.

What our Business Central practice is and who it serves

This is a service, not a product we own: Microsoft builds Business Central, and we are the engineering team that makes it fit your company. We work with organizations that already run Business Central and have outgrown its standard setup, and with companies moving onto it from spreadsheets, Tally-class accounting packages or an aging Dynamics NAV or AX estate, where our clustering and high-availability work on Dynamics AX gives us a useful understanding of what the migration leaves behind.

Engagements are bought in three ways. Fixed-scope projects for an implementation or a defined set of extensions and integrations. A monthly support and enhancement retainer with a named lead and an agreed response time. Or a dedicated Business Central developer who joins your team for a period. Our own finance automation products post into Business Central through AL extensions we built, so the procure-to-pay and order-to-cash integrations are tested on our own code before they reach yours.

We serve clients in India, UAE and Saudi Arabia from Chennai and Abu Dhabi, where Business Central is a common choice for mid-sized trading, distribution and manufacturing companies, and US clients from New Jersey. The wider engineering sits in our enterprise application development practice, with reporting from data engineering and analytics.

What we do on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

Four kinds of work. Most clients need two or three of them at once, and the same engineers do all four.

01

Extensions

AL extensions that add the functionality your business needs and Business Central lacks: approval chains with your thresholds, pricing and rebate logic, industry-specific fields and documents, custom posting routines. Built as per-tenant or AppSource-style extensions so Microsoft's updates do not break them.

02

Integrations

Connections between Business Central and the systems around it: our AP, AR and order automation products, banks and payment gateways, e-invoicing providers in UAE, Saudi Arabia and India, warehouse and barcode systems, CRM and customer portals, using APIs, web services and event-driven flows.

03

Reporting

Reports and dashboards your managers open on a Monday: Power BI models over Business Central data, financial and operational KPIs defined once and reused, and the regulatory and audit extracts your market expects. We build the data layer so the numbers in finance and operations agree.

04

Support

Ongoing enhancement and maintenance after go-live: release testing before each Microsoft update, fixes with a named lead and agreed response times, small changes handled under a retainer, user questions answered by people who know your configuration.

How a Business Central engagement runs

Four steps, whether the engagement is a fresh implementation or a set of extensions on a system you already run.

  1. 01

    Assess ERP requirements

We map your processes against standard Business Central, list what needs an extension, an integration or a report, and estimate honestly.

  2. 02

    Design extensions and integrations

Solution design in AL and integration patterns are agreed with your finance and IT leads before code is written.

  3. 03

    Deploy and validate

Extensions are built, tested in a sandbox against your data and migration, then released in a controlled cutover.

  4. 04

    Support and improve

A retainer or dedicated developer keeps the system current through Microsoft's release cycle and your changing business.

Frequently asked questions

Is Constient a Microsoft partner for Business Central?

We implement, extend and support Business Central with our own AL developers and have built production integrations into it for our finance automation products. Our current Microsoft partner program status is being confirmed and we will state it precisely here once it is; we would rather say that than show a badge we cannot back. Licensing is arranged through your existing Microsoft licensing route.

We already run Business Central. Can you take over support from our current partner?

Yes, and it is a common starting point. We begin with a short assessment of your tenant: installed extensions, customizations, integrations and open issues. From that we propose a support retainer with a named lead and response times, and we take ownership of release testing before each Microsoft update. Knowledge transfer from the previous partner helps but is not required; we can read the AL.

How do you build extensions so Microsoft updates do not break them?

Everything is written as AL extensions, never as modifications to base objects, using events and interfaces Microsoft publishes. Each extension is tested in a sandbox against the upcoming release before your production tenant updates, and we keep the code in source control with automated builds. Where Microsoft adds a standard feature that replaces a custom one, we tell you and retire our code.

Can Business Central handle e-invoicing in UAE, Saudi Arabia and India?

With the right integration, yes. UAE e-invoicing program from 2026, Saudi ZATCA Fatoora and Indian GST e-invoicing each require structured invoice data sent to an accredited provider or government platform. We integrate Business Central with your chosen provider so invoices are cleared or reported without manual re-entry. We design these integrations to work alongside each regime; certification belongs to the provider.

How long does a Business Central implementation take?

A standard finance and distribution implementation for a single company usually runs a few months from assessment to go-live, longer where manufacturing, multiple legal entities or heavy data migration are involved. The assessment at the start produces a scoped plan with dates, and we would rather extend it in writing than promise a date we cannot keep. Extensions on an existing tenant are typically weeks, not months.

Which engagement model should we choose?

Fixed scope suits a defined implementation or a known list of extensions. A support retainer suits a live system that needs release testing, fixes and small changes each month. A dedicated developer suits companies with a continuous backlog who want someone who knows their tenant inside out. Many clients move from fixed scope to a retainer after go-live, and we price the transition up front.
