An enterprise application development company that builds for the next 10 years
We design, build and modernize the software your operations run on: customer portals, operational platforms, integrations between ERP, CRM and identity, and the APIs that hold them together. The code arrives with tests, documentation and a maintenance path, because the cheapest application is the one your own team can still change in year 5.
The business challenge is modernizing without stopping the business
Most enterprises run on a mix of aging applications, point tools bought for one department and integrations that only one person understands. Replacing all of it at once is too risky, and leaving it alone gets more expensive every year. The practical question is which pieces to rebuild, which to wrap and which to retire, and in what order.
The second challenge is balance. Delivery speed, reliability, security, interoperability and long-term maintainability pull against each other, and a vendor optimizing for the demo will quietly sacrifice the last three. We make those trade-offs explicit in the architecture review, so the decision is yours and written down.
What is enterprise application development and why does it matter?
Enterprise application development is the engineering of software that runs a business process across many users, systems and years: order management, onboarding, approvals, partner portals, field operations. It differs from building a product for the open market in three ways: the data already exists in other systems, the users are not optional, and the application will outlive the team that built it.
Its value comes from choosing the right workflow to improve, managing the dependencies on ERP, CRM and identity systems, and measuring the result in transaction times, error rates and support tickets rather than feature counts. We have built digital onboarding platforms with licensed integrations for securities firms in India, and the lesson from that work applies everywhere: the integration contract matters more than the user interface.
As an enterprise application development company that also does AI and data science, we design applications so a model or an agent can be added later without re-architecture.
Our enterprise application development services
Six services, each scoped to the systems you already run.
Custom web and mobile applications
Customer portals, operational platforms and employee apps fitted to your workflows, built on .NET, Java or Node with React or Flutter front ends, and designed for the roles and approval paths your business actually uses.
Enterprise architecture and microservices
Service boundaries sized to your team and operational scale. We split a monolith only where independent deployment pays for the added operational cost, and we say so when it does not.
API development and integration
Secure, versioned contracts connecting ERP, CRM, identity, payment and proprietary systems, including Dynamics 365 Business Central, SAP and Oracle, with retry, idempotency and audit built in.
Legacy modernization
Assessment, then incremental refactor, replatform or replace, with a migration and rollback plan for each step. We have kept live Dynamics AX estates running through infrastructure changes and apply the same discipline here.
Product engineering
From idea to MVP to a long-term platform, with releases shaped by user feedback and a product backlog your team owns, whether the product is internal or sold to your customers.
Application quality and maintenance
Automated testing, performance engineering, upgrade cycles, monitoring and enhancement under a defined service level, so the application keeps earning its place after go-live.
Enterprise use cases we build most often
Six patterns, each with the integration and governance questions that decide whether it succeeds.
Operational enterprise portals
One interface over several back-end systems for operations teams: orders, inventory, service jobs and approvals, with role-based views and a single audit trail.
Customer self-service applications
Onboarding, account management and service requests that complete inside your core systems, including KYC flows that call licensed verification services and record consent.
Partner and distributor platforms
Portals where dealers, agents or suppliers place orders, track status and reconcile payments, with pricing and entitlement rules kept in the ERP rather than copied into the portal.
Workflow and approval systems
Multi-step approvals with delegation, escalation and evidence capture, integrated with email, Teams or WhatsApp notifications and the systems that execute the approved action.
Legacy application modernization
Strangler-pattern migrations that move one capability at a time from an aging platform to a modern stack while both run side by side, with data synchronized and rollback available.
AI-enhanced enterprise applications
Existing applications extended with document extraction, retrieval-grounded assistants or agentic process automation, with human approval and audit retained.
How we deliver in eight steps
Each engagement starts with a scope agreement, risk assessment, architecture review and proof of value. A pilot moves to full engineering only when performance, integration and ownership are clear.
- 01
Requirements discovery
Workflows, users, systems of record and the metric the application should move.
- 02
Product and UX design
Role-based journeys and screens tested with real users before code.
- 03
Architecture
Service boundaries, integration contracts, security model, data ownership.
- 04
Iterative builds
Two-week increments, each demonstrable and deployable to a test environment.
- 05
Testing
Automated unit, integration and performance tests as part of every build.
- 06
Integration
ERP, CRM, identity and payment connections validated against real data.
- 07
Controlled release
Staged rollout by user group or region with monitoring and rollback.
- 08
Support
Defined service levels, upgrade cadence and a named engineer who knows the code.
Business outcomes and how we measure them
Success is measured in numbers your operations team already tracks: transaction time, error and rework rates, release frequency, availability, support ticket volume and the time a new developer needs to make a safe change. We agree the baseline during discovery and report against it after each release.
Where we deliver. In India, we build for RBI and SEBI cyber frameworks and the DPDP Act 2023, with onboarding platforms for securities firms as precedent. In UAE, applications are designed for UAE PDPL and the e-invoicing rollout from 2026. In Saudi Arabia, NCA ECC-2:2024 controls and SDAIA's PDPL shape hosting and access design, and ZATCA e-invoicing shapes finance integrations. In United States, we build for SOC 2-aligned controls your customers will ask about. Our locations cover each market.
Security, governance and quality in every release
Every application ships with least-privilege access, approved environments, reviewable changes and test evidence. Secrets live in a vault, not in code. Dependencies are scanned on every build, and the identity model is designed with your directory team rather than bolted on at the end.
Regulated or sensitive workflows receive specialist legal, security and compliance review before release. Our cloud and DevOps engineers own the pipelines, environments and observability the application depends on, so there is no gap between "the code works" and "the system runs".
Why Constient for enterprise applications
Three habits that show up in our code reviews and our handover documents.
Integration contracts first
We agree the API and data contracts with your ERP, CRM and identity owners before the first screen is designed, because that is where enterprise projects actually fail.
Built to be maintained
Reviewed code, automated tests, runbooks and documentation written for the engineer who joins in year 3, not for the handover meeting.
Adjacent capabilities on the same team
Data platforms, AI models, Business Central extensions and cloud operations come from the same engineering group, so an application can grow without a new vendor.
Frequently asked questions
How does an enterprise application project with Constient start?
With a discovery phase of 2 to 4 weeks: we map the workflows, the systems of record and the users, review the current architecture, and agree the metric the application should move. You receive a scope, an architecture outline, a risk register and a fixed price or team proposal. Contact us to arrange the first workshop.
Can you modernize our legacy application without replacing everything?
Yes, and we usually recommend it. We assess the existing system, wrap it with APIs where needed, then move one capability at a time to the new stack while both run side by side. Each step has a migration and rollback plan. Full replacement is reserved for systems where the platform itself can no longer be secured or supported.
Can we add AI to an existing product or internal system?
Usually, after a review of the data, architecture, permissions and user workflow. Document extraction, retrieval-grounded assistants and workflow agents can be added as services behind existing screens, with human approval and audit retained. We confirm feasibility in a short assessment before committing to a build.
Which technologies do you build with?
Mainly .NET, Java and Node.js on the back end, React and Flutter on the front end, PostgreSQL or SQL Server for data, and Azure, AWS or Google Cloud for hosting, with on-premises deployment where regulation requires it. We fit your existing standards where you have them rather than imposing ours.
Where is the work done and where does our data stay?
Engineering is delivered from Chennai and Bangalore with on-site presence from Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia and New Jersey as needed. Your data stays in the tenancy and region you specify; development and test environments use masked data unless you approve otherwise. Residency is agreed in writing before the engagement starts.
What is the commercial model?
Discovery is fixed-price. Builds run either as fixed-scope projects with milestone payments or as a dedicated engineering team billed monthly when the backlog is expected to evolve. Support after go-live is a defined service level with a monthly fee, scaled to the application's criticality.
