A dedicated development team for AI, data and platform work

Named engineers who join your roadmap for months, not tickets, led by a Constient delivery lead who is accountable for outcomes. Teams are built in Chennai and Bangalore, overlap your working day in the Gulf or United States, and work inside your tools, your repositories and your security perimeter. You get capacity that compounds, because the same people are still there next quarter.

The business challenge is hiring specialists faster than your roadmap moves

Machine learning engineers, data platform engineers and Kubernetes specialists are scarce in every market we serve, and the programs that need them cannot wait for a 6-month hiring cycle. Contractors fill a seat but take the knowledge with them. Project vendors deliver a scope, then leave the system to a team that never built it.

A team extension only works with clear ownership, open collaboration, written expectations and continuity of knowledge. Those four things are the operating model we set up before the first engineer starts, and they are what distinguish a dedicated development team from a staffing list.

What is a dedicated engineering team and why does it matter?

A dedicated engineering team is a stable group of named engineers who work only on your backlog, under your priorities, for an agreed period of months or years, with a delivery lead from us who owns quality, cadence and continuity. It differs from a fixed-scope project in that the scope is expected to evolve, and from staff augmentation in that the team, not the individual, is the unit of accountability.

It matters most for AI, data and platform work, where requirements emerge as data is understood and where context built over months is the real asset. Our teams have delivered LangGraph agent systems, Databricks lakehouse platforms, multi-environment Kubernetes estates and Dynamics 365 Business Central extensions in this model, alongside the client's own engineers.

The angle we take is specialist capacity. If you need 20 generalist developers, there are larger firms. If you need a dedicated AI engineering team or a data platform squad that your architects can trust, that is what we build.

Our dedicated engineering team services

Six team shapes. Most clients start with one and add a second once the operating model is proven.

01

Dedicated product teams

Cross-functional squads of engineers, a tech lead and a QA engineer, aligned to a product backlog and release goals, with a product owner on your side and a delivery lead on ours.

02

AI and data specialists

Machine learning engineers, LLM application developers, analytics engineers and data platform engineers for defined responsibilities such as agent systems, retrieval pipelines or lakehouse build-out.

03

Cloud and platform engineers

Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, CI/CD and reliability engineers who run your cloud platform alongside your operations team, including on-call participation where agreed.

04

Application developers

.NET, Java, Node and mobile engineers delivering front end, back end, API and integration work under your coding standards and review process, or ours where you have none yet.

05

QA and test automation

Functional, integration, performance and regression test engineers who build the automation your releases depend on, aligned to your release calendar and definition of done.

06

Delivery governance and knowledge transfer

Reporting rhythms, ownership maps, documentation standards, handover plans and the build-operate-transfer option for clients who intend to bring the team in-house.

Enterprise use cases for a dedicated team

Six situations where a stable team beats a project or a contractor.

01

Capacity expansion for active product teams

Your product is live and the backlog outgrows the team. A dedicated squad takes a defined slice, such as integrations or a new module, and ships to your release train.

02

Specialized AI implementation support

Your data scientists have a model; you need engineers to productionize it with evaluation, monitoring and agentic workflows around it. The team stays through the first year of operation.

03

Legacy modernization squads

A team dedicated to moving capabilities off an aging platform one at a time, while your core team keeps the business running on the current system.

04

Data platform delivery extensions

Lakehouse build-out, pipeline migration and semantic layer work that your data engineering lead directs but cannot staff internally this year.

05

Temporary expertise for migration programs

Cloud, ERP or cryptographic migrations that need specialists for 9 to 18 months and then need them to leave cleanly, with documentation your team can run on.

06

Long-term maintenance and enhancement

A small standing team that owns a portfolio of applications after go-live: upgrades, security patches, small enhancements and incident response under a service level.

How we deliver in seven steps

Every team starts with a scope agreement, a risk assessment, an architecture review and a proof of value. The team moves to full capacity once ownership, access and working rhythm are proven in the first weeks.

  1. 01

    Role definition

Skills, seniority mix, team lead and the outcomes the team is accountable for.

  2. 02

    Technical alignment

Your stack, repositories, standards, environments and review process.

  3. 03

    Onboarding

Access, security induction, domain briefings and a first small deliverable.

  4. 04

    Shared delivery goals

Quarterly objectives agreed with your product and engineering leads.

  5. 05

    Review cadence

Daily stand-up in overlap hours, weekly delivery review, monthly steering.

  6. 06

    Quality assurance

Code review, automated tests and definition of done applied to every change.

  7. 07

    Knowledge continuity

Documentation, pairing, planned rotation and a handover plan from day one.

Business outcomes and how we measure them

Team performance is measured by delivery predictability against committed goals, quality in production, knowledge retention when a member rotates, communication your leads rate each month, and the outcomes you defined. It is not measured by seat count or hours logged.

Where we deliver. Teams are based in Chennai and Bangalore and serve clients in India, UAE, Saudi Arabia and United States. India's time zone gives a full-morning overlap with the Gulf and a working overlap with US East Coast at the start of the American day. For Gulf clients we align with the Sunday to Thursday week where required and account for UAE PDPL and SDAIA PDPL residency rules on data access. For US clients, teams work under your SOC 2-aligned controls and background check requirements. Our locations list each office.

Security, governance and quality for an embedded team

Engineers work under your identity provider with least-privilege access, in approved environments, with reviewable changes and test evidence for every merge. Devices are managed, access is revoked the day a member rotates, and production data is masked in development unless you approve otherwise.

Regulated or sensitive workflows receive specialist legal, security and compliance review. Contracts cover intellectual property assignment, confidentiality and the data residency rules of your jurisdiction, and we adapt to client-side background check and clearance requirements.

Why Constient for dedicated teams

Three differences from a staffing firm.

Named leads, accountable for outcomes

Every team has a Constient delivery lead you can call, who reviews the work and answers for the quarter's goals, not a recruiter who placed a resume.

Specialists, not generalists

AI, data and platform engineers who also deliver our own quantum research and product work, so your team draws on a wider bench when a hard problem appears.

Continuity by design

Documentation, pairing and planned rotation are part of the operating model, so knowledge stays with you when a person moves on.

Frequently asked questions

How does a dedicated team differ from project delivery?

A project delivers a fixed scope against acceptance criteria and ends. A dedicated team adds standing capacity under an agreed collaboration model, with a backlog you prioritize and a lead from us accountable for cadence and quality. Choose a project when the scope is clear; choose a team when the work will evolve over quarters.

How quickly can a team start and how is it assembled?

A core team of 3 to 5 engineers typically starts within 4 to 6 weeks of role definition, drawn from our Chennai and Bangalore bench and supplemented by targeted hiring for rare skills. You interview the lead and senior members before they are confirmed. Contact us to begin role definition.

Can the team work in our tooling and under our security policies?

Yes, subject to security, access and contractual review. Engineers use your identity provider, repositories, ticketing and communication tools, and follow your coding standards and review process. Where you have no standards yet, we bring ours and document them so your team inherits them.

How do you handle time zones for Gulf and US clients?

India overlaps the Gulf for most of the working day and US East Coast for 3 to 4 hours each afternoon. We schedule stand-ups and reviews in overlap hours, keep asynchronous written updates for the rest, and can shift team hours for US clients where the engagement requires it. The Sunday to Thursday week is supported for Gulf clients.

How is knowledge continuity handled when someone leaves?

Through documentation written as part of the work, pairing on every critical component, an onboarding plan kept current for the next joiner and planned rotation with a handover period. Attrition happens; the operating model is designed so it costs you days rather than months.

What is the commercial model, and can we eventually hire the team?

Teams are billed monthly per team, with the composition reviewed quarterly and a notice period for scaling down. Where you intend to bring the capability in-house, we offer a build-operate-transfer arrangement in which the team transitions to your payroll on agreed terms after a set period.

Where does our data stay and who owns the code?

Your data stays in your tenancy and region; engineers access it through your controls and we do not copy it to Constient systems. All code, models and documentation produced for you are assigned to you under the contract. Residency and IP terms are agreed in writing before onboarding starts.
